Workshop Ideation

As part of my internship with OSR, I discussed with Sam and agreed to come up with some ideas for workshops and possibly integrate my skills as an artist as well. After some brainstorming and research, I came up with a few ideas:

Art Jam

• Introduction to various artistic mediums suitable for marine-themed art, including watercolors, acrylics, and mixed media.

• Basic techniques for depicting underwater scenes, textures, and vibrant colors.

• Participants create their own marine-inspired artwork using the techniques learned.

Sculpting Marine Creatures:

• Introduction to sculpture techniques using clay or other suitable materials.

• Participants create 3D representations of their favorite marine animals.

Intertidal walk:

• Participants spot marine creatures during lowtide and are encourage to take photographs with their phones

• Can be combine with beach clean-up as well

• Sharing more about marine life as well as environmental issues during the walk and post-activity discussion

Assemblage and Mixed Media:

• Participants begin with a beach clean-up activity

• Afterward, they select the trash and cleaning them

• Experimentation with assemblage techniques using found objects at the beach to create marine-themed artworks.

Group Mural:

• Collaborative art project where participants contribute to a large mural depicting an underwater scene.

• Encourages teamwork and creativity.
